Introduction
These forms/designs explore the use of fluid movement and entice the eye, articulating the invisible gestures of the flow of oxygen in the atmosphere.
The Whole Story
What if a hotel could embrace more than the people in it?
What if it could embrace emotion and evoke creativity. The hotel design explores the use of wood as a premise for representation of the sky, cloud forms, fluid airflow, ultimately oxygen. The application of wood as a structural system for this hotel is symbolic of the process in which wood stores carbon and this process is not invisible to the naked eye, just like oxygen flow isn’t. If we were to cut open the wood, we wouldn’t see the carbon inside. Yet its design and composition suggest what it might look like.
