Submitted by: PAUL MORGAN
The brief prescribed a residential mid - rise apartment building in Box Hill using Cross Laminated Timber construction designed with highly sustainable attributes in mind.
The Whole Story
An architectural mark on the ever evolving metropolitan Melbourne skyline,
with it’s terraced gardens and layered façade, Laevo is a revolutionary residential medium-rise building boasting Cross Laminated Timber construction.
Formation of the floor plates and balcony lining move free as if in the breeze or among the repetitious motion of the ocean imitating constant fluid change.
Inside, apartments are bathed in natural light, ordered lines, detailed finishes & framed views of the Dandenong ranges and city skyline, making for spacious & adaptable apartments, conscious of environmentally sustainable design.
This building has a generous personality, inviting public participation whether it’s at street level in the podium’s setback garden, café and gallery or within the large entertaining spaces of the apartments above.
Laevo answers the design challenge with vigour and elegance with the sole purpose of contributing value to the future of sustainable apartment living, whilst increasing the quality of life for those who dwell within it.
