Introduction

The Tilt Table is a bedside table designed to store books, ornaments and magazines. It is handcrafted from plywood and recycled spotted gum.

The Whole Story

The Tilt Table is a bedside table designed to store books, ornaments and magazines. The three successive shelves on the right hand side provide ample space for novels and personal belongings. The triangular storage area not only contributes to the striking design, but provides a great store area for magazines, and provides the intense structural support of a triangle.

The project is predominately made from plywood, whilst the legs are made from recycled spotted gum. The wood is finished in a beautiful Danish Oil. While two of the legs stop at the base of the structure, the other two carry through the table, providing a strong visual cue for the border between storage spaces, as well as providing extra stability for the table top and storage areas.

The triangular form of the table provides space for storage beneath the table without compromising on the dimensions of the table top.
